Every once in a while I surprise Makenna by dressing up her doll, Evangeline, and doing her hair up fancy. I then leave it somewhere for her to find. Last night I decided I would really surprise her and made a dress for Evangeline out of some leftover material from some jumpers I made for the girls a while back. I also made a matching headband that I knew Kenna would love. When she got up this morning and saw her doll, she was so excited that she hurriedly went and got in her matching jumper and got Georgia in hers. One of the things that brings Kenna the most joy is matching someone else.

Blanket Time
While I'm doing school with the other two kids Georgia gets to do some blanket time. She looks forward to this time so much because she gets to play with the toys and books that I pack away the rest of the day. Another special thing about blanket time is that buddy cuddles up with her everyday and stays there the whole time. She thinks that its because he loves her so much but I think it has something to do with the super soft quilt.

New Friend
We got this little guy about 3 weeks ago and we have already enjoyed him so much. Meet Mr. Frisky. Sorry the pictures aren't great. The only time he would hold still was when he was eating. He definitely lives up to his name! So far a hamster has been a great pet. The pros are that he was cheap, keeps himself really clean, is cute and fun. The con are that he is nocturnal so we have to wake him up a lot if we want to play with him. Kenna has taken great responsibility of him and feeds him every morning and cleans out his cage every week without being asked.

Marriage Plans
Makenna asked me this morning if she could take Georgia with her when she gets married. I told her no I couldn't bear to lose them both at one time. But I told her that Georgia could come visit her at her new home. We would be willing to fly Georgia out to wherever she is living. With wide eyes she assured me that flying would not be necessary as she would be living right next door to us. I can't believe how close these girls are even though they are almost 6 years apart!

Happy 4th Birthday to My Little Man!

Seth has been the hardest child for me to watch grow up. He was my only really cuddly baby and he is still my cuddly est child. He has matured so much this year and is starting to ask good questions and become more spiritually aware. We love his little childlike faith and are so blessed that God gave him to us to be a part of our family. Seth has such a tender heart towards others and loves to enjoy life. You can't help but love this kid! He likes to dress up like a little man and loves to go to the hardware store with his daddy. He is becoming much more aware that he is a boy and different from his sisters, but he is always willing to play house with them and be the daddy. What a trooper!
Seth Jacob, our prayer for you is to become a valiant soldier in Christ's army and always be the defender of those weaker than you. We pray that you will always stand up for the truth of the gospel and live a life fully committed to bringing God glory in all that you do. We love you.

End of Year Tradition
We read this three years ago and have greatly benefited from putting it into practice each year since. Let me encourage you to take time this new years to think about what you did this last year and what you learned and to set family goals for the year to come!
Later Christmas Morning
We loaded up the kids stockings with a creation moon video, solar system stickers and space books to go with our new telescope.
We then opened up presents from Grampa and Grammy and Uncle Scott and Auntie Barb.
Grammy had made us some great gifts:
Matching scarves for the girls! Also one for mama!
New ties for Seth and a new tie rack!
Auntie Barb and Uncle Scott did a great job of getting educational but really fun things! Bret and Kenna played her new allowance games three times on Chirstmas day and Seth loves building with his new tools!
Also some pull along blocks for Georgia, a bug catcher and a really neat memory game. Thanks guys!
The kids played for a while and then it was off to bed for a mid morning nap!
